This is one of my favorite sayings.
'A man has a thousands of books in his heart that overflows into pictures and writings.'
It is said by Master Choosa Kim, Jung-Hee. This saying suggests it puts huge
amount of effort to write and to draw a piece of work. When we take
a enjoyable time to the work of art, we only see the completed budding flower.
How much of endurance of time and effort you have burnt a soul of creation
to bud the flower?
Therefore, when I step towards the exhibition hall, I am humble.
The main chapter of the festival is the magnificent bouquet that calligraphic
artists have weaved with your torment and sigh. So I send my condolence
to all of you who have participated.

Jeollabuk-do is often known as the province of manners. One of the manners
has formed in writing and literature. The history of literature of Jeollabuk-do
that is polished and filled with writing has given a birth to World Calligraphy Biennale of Jeollabuk-do. The calligraphic artists of Jeollabuk-do are Changam Lee, Sam Man who has freedom of a soul, Sukjeon Hwang Wook who is an incarnation of fire with mighty sinews and passion, and Kangam Song, Sung Yong who has been the role model of an upright scholar and et cetera. Their spirits and talents still lies in calligraphy of Jeollabuk-do. As an extention, there is World Calligraphy Biennale of Jeollabuk-do.

The ultimate goal of all arts are communication and communion. When the artists' agony and authenticity passes on to the audiences, the purpose of art has come to completion. The World Calligraphy Biennale of Jeollabuk-do has made enormous changes to communicate with the audience meanwhile. As a result, many people accepted Calligraphy close to their daily lives and are proud of the fact that calligraphic culture is our own cultural prosperty.

Nowadays, Korean wave hits the whole world. Calligraphy is a strong content that will show the spirit o fKorean wave to the world. IT will be a great opportunity to introduce the spirit and culture of Korea to the citizen of world if we create the new value and inherit the traditional minds through World Calligraphy Biennale of Jeollabuk-do. Stand in front of the art work, eyes closed and feel the spirit of Korea. Even if only one piece of art makes your heart leap, your steps towards the Biennale has been successed. I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to the calligraphic artists who volunteerly submit your works, organizing committee and the provincial residents who have shown the liberal with their supports. Thank you.
