Born in 1938•In 1957 he studied ceramics at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania•In 1960 he studied sculpture at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan•About 2005 he was introduced to brushwork by Barbara Bash at the Shambhala Center, Sky Lake Lodge, in Rosendale, New York•About 2007 a Zen Enso calligraphy by him was illustrated in Insight Journal, a publication of the Insight Meditation Society, Barre, Massachusetts•Since 2008 he has studied traditional Japanese calligraphy with Tsuyoshi Takemori at the Kampo Center, New York City, New York•In 2012-2013 he studied studio art under Maurizio Pellegrin at the National Academy School of Fine Art, New York City•From 2010 to 2012 his traditional calligraphy was shown annually at the Japanese/American Cultural Exhibition of the New York Shodo Society, Pleasantville, New York•His traditional calligraphy forms part of the private collections of Krishna Das, Valerie Green, Sabir Mateen, Maria Rinzan, Fred Hatt, Mark Stoeckle, and others•In Spring, 2013, some of his abstract work was included in the exhibition “Asian Dreams and Inspiration” and at a one-person Wall Project show, both at the National Academy School of Fine Art, New York City, New York•In April, 2013, other examples of his abstract calligraphy were published online at www.thenewpostliterate.blogspot.com / 23 East 81st Street, New York City, New York 10028-USA / 212-988-3306(H)
